Mrs. Hill graduated
from Virginia Tech in 2009 with her master’s degree in music education. Mrs. Hill majored in french
horn and piano and also studied voice. She teaches the children’s choir at
Blacksburg Christian Fellowship and gives private horn, piano, and voice lessons. This is Mrs. Hill's third year at CMS. She can't wait to have her 7th and 8th graders back (she's saved many stories for them) and looks forward to getting to know the 6th graders that are new to the CMS band this year. When Mrs. Hill was in middle school… she was the only girl on her Youth Sports soccer team and began band in Mr. Fagan’s class on the french horn. –She loved band, but did not start out as the best player in her section. In middle school Mrs Hill was shy, but she is glad she took risks like joining the cross country and forensics teams. Mrs. Hill has always loved to read. Her middle school favorites were “Little Women,” and the “Sherlock Holmes” series. She wanted to grow up and become the President of the United States. She still might... When Mrs. Hill is not in the classroom you might
find her at the piano writing/arranging music, taking walks with her husband, or practicing with Bella, her amazing french horn. Her favorite animal is the sea turtle - she helped rescue some sea turtles this summer! She also loves to run, cook,
hike, find quiet places to read and new pieces to listen to. Mrs Hill's theme... This year, Mrs Hill is making an extra effort to remind all of her students of an important theme. It's easy to see from the podium she stands on every day. By the end of the year, she hopes her students will see it too... YOU can be whoever you want to be. (Not just when you grow up; today too!)
