About Mr. Daughters, Director of Bands Jim
Daughters is currently in his fourth year as the Director
of Bands and Orchestras at Conner Middle School.
Since Mr. Daughters arrived at Conner in 2005,
enrollment has more than doubled in the band program,
currently to over 300 students, and the school has
started an orchestra program under his direction.
The CMS bands have earned
straight distinguished ratings at Large Ensemble
Assessments and in 2006, 2007, and 2008, were recognized as one
of three Exemplary Performance Groups in District
6. In 2007, Jim was named Middle School Teacher
of the Year by the Northern Kentucky Music Educators
in District 6. Prior to moving back to his
hometown, Mr. Daughters was the Director of Bands at
Henderson North Middle School, in Henderson, KY. Mr.
Daughters' groups at Henderson North and Conner have
been invited to perform at the UK Middle School
Invitational. In 2008, the Conner Middle School
Symphonic Band performed at the Kentucky Music
Educator's Association In-Service Conference in
Louisville, KY.
Jim is a frequent adjudicator for various regional
competitions and is also a marching band arranger for several
regional marching bands, including the University of
Kentucky. Mr. Daughters is also the head clinician
for the
University of Kentucky Drum Major Camp which
annually draws nearly 100 drum majors.
Jim received his
Bachelors Degree in Music Education from the University
of Kentucky and finished Masters Degree requirements
with Richard Clary from the same institution. He
is a member of KMEA, MENC, NBA, and the American
Composers Forum. He is also a Kentucky Colonel
and honorary member of Kappa Kappa Psi.

About Mr. Stoeckel, Percussion Director Andy
Stoeckel is currently a Junior Music Education Major at
Northern Kentucky University in Highland Heights, Ky.
Alongside serving as Percussion Director at Conner
Middle School, he also co-directs the percussion at
Conner High School where he is responsible for arranging
the music for and instructing the marching band and
winter drumline programs.
Mr. Stoeckel came to Conner in 2007 after teaching with
both Newport Middle and High Schools in 2005. His
performance experience includes the Cincinnati String
Academy Orchestra (Wyoming, Oh.), the Highlands
High/Middle School Percussion Ensemble, Jazz Band, Pep
Band, Concert Band, and Marching Band (Ft. Thomas, Ky.),
the NKU Steel Drum Band, Percussion Ensemble,
Philharmonic Orchestra, Concert Band, and the Symphonic
Winds (Highland Heights, Ky.). He also marched for 3
years with the DCI Division 1 Southwind Drum and Bugle
Corps (Lexington, Ky.) as a mallet percussionist.
Mr. Stoeckel is a 2005 graduate of Highlands High School
(Ft. Thomas, Ky.)
